Fall 2010 The bulls are going into hard antler now! We will be handling the herd on 28-Aug-2010 to remove the antlers. If you want to see the elk in hard antler you need to get out here before then. After the August handling, we will put the breed bulls in with their respective cow groups. Then it's time for rut. Mid-Sep. through the early Oct. is a great time to come out to hear the bulls bugling and glunking and rutting. News: Brenda is now a blogger! You can follow her blog at elkfarmer.wordpress.com. I know I'm a bit biased, but I really think this is the most informative, interesting, and engaging blog on the Internet. :) And I'm sure you will think so too! And such nice pictures! Summer/Fall Hours: We are open Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and by appointment during the week. Please call us at (503) 829-7107 to schedule your elk ranch tour. A little about us...Rosse Posse Acres is the realization of Alan & Brenda Ross' dream come true. We are a 52-acre working elk ranch with approximately 70 head of elk. Besides the elk, we have a small petting zoo with pygmy goats, miniature donkeys, a miniature horse, Patagonian cavy, Wallaby, and chickens; kids especially love "Tucker" the Wallaby because he is so cute. The "Rosse Posse" (pronounced ross-ee poss-ee) was a nickname given to our family by one of our friends. We are a family of 6, so I guess we seemed like a posse to her. Anyhow, the name kind of stuck, so we just went with it. Our last name is actually "Ross", but that didn't rhyme with "posse" too well. How to get in touch with us...
