Elk Ranch closed for elk handling

We will be doing our spring handling today so the ranch will be closed for tours.  During the spring handling we vaccinate our elk against the typical ranch diseases and de-worm.  We also rotate our pastures and stage our cows and heifers in their calving pasture.  When we handle the elk we need to keep the ranch calm and quiet so we don't over-stress the elk.  We hope you will understand and plan your ranch visit for another day.

Elk Ranch closed for wedding

Well, our oldest daughter of the Rosse Posse has found her beaux.  The ranch will be closed this weekend for the wedding and so we can attend to our out of town guests.  Thank you for your understanding.  And if you're feeling generous, the happy couple is registered at Target and Wal*Mart under Jesse Straub and Breal Ross. ;)

"A Walk on the Wild Side"

Photography lovers will have an awesome time during this weekend. Workshops and opportunities to photograph elk up close, as well as visiting the local Wildlife Foundation to photograph other wildlife, and then a trip up the beautiful Molalla River Corridor to take pictures of nature at is finest. 2nd Annual Big Elk, Bluegrass, and BBQ

We will once again host the Big Elk, Bluegrass, and BBQ event here at the elk farm.  The event is a fund-raiser for Vision Northwest, a local non-profit that helps the visually impaired.  This year's schedule will be a bit different than last year:

• Gates open at Noon for jam sessions (bring your instruments!), vending, eating, and elk viewing

• Bands will start at 6:00 p.m. and play until 9:00 p.m.
